Is Delores Too Old of a Name Baby

Yes... yes, I know that Windows 7 is "officially dead" but it should not mean that a person has to shell out $100 for Windows 10 in order to play a "free game".

Too many folks running a deprecated OS whining about a free prototype not being supported. You know win10 is still a free upgrade for win7/8 folk right? And it's a far better OS.

Far better, nice? Windows 10 is one of the worst OSs when it comes to administration control, about privacy, security and compatibility issues - just see how your data is handled and the flawed patching system works, with people losing data and hours of work.
People moved to Windows 10 because this version is preinstalled on any new computer and because Microsoft is forcing it, not necessarily because it is better/more nice.

There is a reason why so many IT professionals stick with Windows 7 at home.

Most people are not IT professionals and Windows 10 is enough for their needs.

Not supporting Windows 7, with the huge amount of people still running it, is simply a gift to Microsoft, considering that there is no support to Linux as well.

It is a shame,a gross shame.

DX-11 will not run on anything new. You need DX-12 to do that.

Except it will.

Surely, it's suitable for most people to use sub-par, half-working product. You talk like communism. Judging it's one of the biggest mass-surveilance in history(that's presented like not an issue) - it's not far from truth.

Please, let's not get into fights over various OSs here and cause the thread to devolve into personal attacks. No one's opinion in this matter is most probably going to change.

If this continues, the thread will have to be locked.

I'm afraid my initial question got a bit lost in this thread. I asked if anyone managed to get the game running with Steam Play, meaning with any Proton Version on Linux.

Hello,

we're currently looking into options that would allow the game to run on Proton (since there are currently some issues related to OS detection).

You mean hardcoded OS detection?

Easy! Just use winecfg to set the OS Version to Windows 10. WIll crash though. (See the other thread on Linux)

Wait, a Directx12 /Win10 requirement on a pixel art game?

How the original can we played on Windows 7 and this one not?

Worst of all, I can't leave a negative rewiev with not 'launch' the game at least one

You want to give the game a negative review because it doesn't support your OS? Can't say I blame you. After all, it is completely unacceptable for a free prototype to not offer immediate support for every single OS that's currently in use.
